Description Level fonds
Group Description 'Hot off the Press' was a major exhibition at Tullie House during 1996 and subsequently a touring exhibition. The project looked at the relationship between print and ceramic art. It originated in research by ceramist Paul Scott for his book 'Ceramics and Print'. This lead to the planning of the exhibition which was developed by the Tullie House Visual Arts Officer Terry Bennett. Work was commissioned or acquired from artists for exhibition and works or images of works were borrowed from other galleries. A book was also produced to accompany the exhibition. Funding and support was received from the Crafts Council, Northern Arts and Cumbria County Council as well as Carlisle City Council who are responsible for Tullie House
The collection includes correspondence with artists who contributed to the exhibition or galleries who loaned work or images, photographs and publicity material, general planning information on the exhibition and touring exhibition.
